Our collective physical therapy staff brings a wide range of skill sets to the clinical table.  We treat professional athletes, weekend warriors and non-athletes alike.  Everyone receives the same level of skill and attention regardless of lifestyle demands.  By design, we have put together a staff that is well versed in various treatment techniques and philosophies.  You will always see the same licensed therapist for your entire treatment as we believe that continuity and consistency are important to understand the nuances of each person’s issues and requirements.  Therefore, during your physical therapy you are not passed off to any assistants or coaches.  For more about staff, please click here. One thing remains consistent amongst Focus’s therapists, and that is our basic assessment and treatment approach. Here’s a closer look at what your first visit for physical therapy would look like.

We believe that most pain, inflammation, and weakness of musculoskeletal origin is caused by faulty biomechanics during movement and daily postures.   These are caused by pockets of restriction and blockage to circulation, nerve conduction, and therefore healing potential that exist throughout the body.  These areas need to be identified properly during the initial evaluation and treatment session.  During the first visit, the physical therapist performs a comprehensive evaluation of the entire musculoskeletal system.  All faulty postures, poor movement patterns, and structural problems are identified.

focus-physical-therapy-300x200All of our therapists are highly trained manual therapy specialists.  Skilled hands and observant eyes will find areas of nerve entrapment, decreased circulation, and movement obstructions.  These are corrected using different styles of manipulation including passive and active myofascial release, joint manipulations, and stretching.  This eliminates entrapment and restores normal movement and optimal function.

From day one, specific stretching programs are incorporated to increase flexibility, relieve pain of tissue entrapment, and increase range of motion.  Pilates, yoga and other therapeutic exercises are used to re-educate muscles, strengthen, and build core stability

Whether it is post-surgical rehabilitation or pain of mysterious origin, the body is assessed and treated in its entirety.

All major insurance plans are accepted for physical therapy.
